The term "adaptation" (from Latin adapto - I adapt) was borrowed from biology, where adaptation is usually understood as the process of adapting an organism to environmental conditions. In relation to the field of personnel management, adaptation is an adaptation, an employee's getting used to a new organization, team, working conditions.For a long time, scientists have considered adaptation as a one-sided process of adapting a person to new social conditions. However, modern researchers proceed from the fact that the individual is also capable of exerting a transformative influence on the social environment.
